Freelance writers of promise and great potential were asked to attend interviews lasting fifteen minutes. They were hired on the spot, some fired a fortnight later. This was where your young talent shone and blossomed or suffocated and passed on by. As to the engineers, they were most well paid, and knew the fat bonus that awaited them at the end included also relocation opportunities. Cowboys, itinerant workers were discouraged from applying.
